SUBIRÉ LEÓN SCHOOL
SUBIRE School in Leon is an institution covering basic and middle levels of education. Our team designed and built a fun a cheerful solution to cover the playground in the preschool section to protect children from UV ray exposure.
Maintaining the balance between safety, practicality, color, dynamism, fun and interaction.
Design concept is made up of rectangular mesh panels in a multi color array. This order is held together by a complex system of stainless steel cables and custom made connectors.
Dünn made a multi-perforated membrane ceiling using Ferrari in distinct colors to form a paraboloid that consisted of a web or mesh of cables of stainless steel cables that create space between them, placing in the meshed membrane a variety of different colors.
The paraboloid has double movement and double curvature, which creates a fun design. The whole system of stainless steel cables and between each intersection had the design each piece to have at a fixed point in order to adapt to an angle with the cables.
This system was patented as a unique and exclusive design done by DÜNN.
The multicolor mesh membrane panels resulted in an unique and fun experience for the children. This project was awarded with the IFAI awards October 2015 for excellence in design and execution.
